F.R.I.E.N.D.S.

F.R.I.E.N.D.S. : The very mention of this word has a different connotation now. Anyone who has been a follower would identify with the famous friends of the small screen. Ross, Chandler, Joey, Monica, Phoebe, Rachel; the most adorable set of friends ever, to grace international television. The story of these 6 people developed and matured over ten years and after every passing year viewers wanted more.
Probably the reason for this was the truth behind each character. The actors were just perfect for each role and identified with the character. After innumerable re-runs of the series, one gets the feeling that the cast was so perfect that any replacement would never have worked. If you put Courtney Cox in place of Jennifer Aniston then it would be a disaster. There could be no-one who could bring Phoebe to life or sing 'smelly cat' as Lisa Kudrow did. Chandler's one liners could never be delivered with the maximum effect by anyone else. Ross's eccentricities are a classic and who can forget the best pick up line ever, "How you Doing?" Joey never ever failed with that line.
I think one of the strongest USP's of the series was the storyline and the maturity with which it was handled over the years as the characters matured. The mentality of the 6 friends eveolved over the ten years and so did their relationship. So much so that lovers loved the love-hate relationship of Ross and Rachel. Married couples identified with Chandler and Monica.

Phoebe Buffet: My personal favorite. In my opinion the best of the lot. She has seen life from such close
quarters that nuthin surprises her ever. And the best part is her innocence.

Joey: He defines what best friends are all about. Joey's struggling career, his attachment to Dr. Ramorey and his relationship with Chandler is simply out of this world. Very rarely would you find two friends who have so much in common. Love to watch Baywatch, play Foosball, the unusual pets...the list is endless.

Even the side characters were fun. Janis with her characteristic nasal tone and the "Oh My God!". She was hilarious and irritatingly irritating (whatever that means) :-)

I still remember the last scene of the last episode where each of them put their keys on the kitchen counter and walk out of the door. An apartment where they spent 10 years of their lives. A place where they laughed together. A place where they cried together. A place where they fought together. A place where they lived together. A place where they experienced life. And a place where they taught us all how to live life KING SIZE.

Cheers to the best ever TV show of all times!!!
