Ah Weekend...

Been a long while since I truly realized the importance of a weekend. Traveling to work 4 hrs to & fro does make a lot of difference. The past week has been very very hectic in terms of travel, but then there are some advantages to it surely. The brighter side of things being that i am very rapidly catching up on all the pending readings that somehow I had started but left midway.

In some strange way the current situation seems to be HIS way of saying, 'It's all for good'.

So, no complaints...All Izz Well :-)

Finding Nemo

As kids, we had a huuuge aquarium at home with all kinds of fish in it. The trouble was when it required cleaning. A hell of a job to clean such a large tank. However, it was a real nice way to have pet and I have always enjoyed it. Though the thought crossed my mind several times, I couldn't really bring myself to buy an aquarium and so we got a bowl with Goldfish. However, last week, we finally got an aquarium as an addition to our Goldfish bowl with a couple of pair of Molly's and a pair of Swordtail.

 

Well...saw these guys swimming around the tank today. Took out 4 of them (which I could find). Let's see how many make it. :-) Pretty cool watching them move around.

Shouldn't really have lost those 3 wickets towards the end but a win is a win.

PI...No Please

Do not even think of watching Pyaar Impossible.

As Rajeev masand very aptly said...it's really Impossible to watch. We actually considered leaving the theatre during the interval, but then thot...what an absolutely perfect place to take a small nap ;-)

Well. I normally wouldn't have written about such a disastrous movie. Except for the fact that most of it is shot in a place where we recently had such a wonderful christmas vacation. Yes. Singapore!

The movie is shot almost entirely in this city but then again, most of it is just shot in and around the Merlion.

Back to the movie...Jugal hansraj should actually stick to directing animated movies. Most of the characters are so boring that you feel pity on them, rather than throw rotten tomatoes on the screen. Such pitiful waste of actors like Anupam Kher. With Uday Chopra, literally flooding twitter with PI updates and how his production is shaping up, one would have expected at least a decently watchable flick.

But, you know about the 12 saal and doom in the nali...absolutely suits this guy...

Should have known better and refrained from taking this uncalculated risk of watching PI.

Got the Snow Leopard Upgrade yesterday but was it ferocious! Upgrading through the interface was supposed to be a cakewalk, but what would you do if the DVD is ejected as soon as you put it in the drive?

Well, tried some really weird solutions like changing the internationalization language to simple one's like booting options. Even safe boot, remote install, image burning on another comp failed.

What actually worked was a simple Superdrive lens cleaner through a cleaning CD.

The disk mounted smoothly after that and the install took a little more than an hour. Feels good to see that around 10GB of HDD space was recovered :D .

Haven't really seen an overwhelming change in the look and feel yet. But then it's been just a couple of hours. Performance seems to have improved a bit in terms of speed of applications opening up.

Well, I'll let the leopard prowl silently on the snow for a while and watch the elegance ;-)

He's back and with a bang.
His latest novel is filled with the characteristic humour that one is used to; it is unputdownable; the characters are extremely real as always and one does gets engrossed completely once you start reading. Yes, Chetan Bhagat is back with his new story: '2 States-The story of my Marriage'
What's different is that, this time the protagonist is an extension of the hero from 5.someone (Another snippet of Chetan's life).
The story is so real that everyone of us would identify with it. You would have definitely seen those things happen to yourself or a friend or a relative for sure.
Chetan's youth oriented themes coated with reality makes the characters so likeable. I am sure, everyone of his books are compared to 5.someone which has become a benchmark of sorts and has inspired dozens of similar themed novels which all but failed to achieve that cult status. Chetan himself is no exception. People have trashed ON@TCC and 3-mistakes as below par, but loyal fans will love 2-states for sure. This one is a must read and recommended!
